某先輩芸人から紹介された、江頭の事をガチで惚れている顔・スタイル・性格・職業全て良しという正に絵に描いた様な美人に結婚を前提に付き合って欲しいと言われたがそれを断った。
折角の努力が水の泡になったので、その先輩はマジギレし、何故断ったのかと問い詰めたら、

「彼女が自分の様な奴と付き合うと、確実に周りに馬鹿にされるから。俺は人を笑わせる為にいるが、人を悲しませる事だけは絶対にしない。
だから、俺は絶対に彼女を作らない。そしてテレビの中のピエロとして死にたいんだ。」

と言い、その先輩が逆に謝ったという伝説を残した。
